Currently, the FLAVORx system is used in over 35,000 pharmacies, in every state of the nation, as well as internationally in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. To date, pharmacists have flavored over 20 million rescriptions flavored safely and effectively with FLAVORx. This has helped lessen the discomfort that sick people experience. Reason
Many parents struggle to get their kids to take medicine, and our company's founder, CEO and president, Kenny Kramm, was no exception. Kenny's second daughter, Hadley, developed cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder that required her to take medicine four times a day to prevent seizures and to stay alive. The medicine tasted awful and was extremely difficult for Hadley to keep down, resulting in many trips to the hospital emergency room. Luckily, Kenny worked in his family's pharmacy, and he and his father (a pharmacist for 40 years) started to experiment with concentrated flavorings to disguise the taste of her medication. They successfully produced a banana flavor and Hadley was able to swallow her medicine in its entirety. They were thrilled because Hadley's condition was stabilized, and also because it alleviated her anxiety and distress, not to mention theirs. Kenny realized that making medicine more palatable could be of use to all children (and their parents), and to patients of any age.

Medicines flavored with FLAVORx improve medicinal compliance. Research shows that with flavored medicines patients are more likely to take the entire dose, which means they recover more quickly. FLAVORx has solved many problems for parents of children suffering from serious illnesses, as well as those suffering from allergies and common infections. And it's not just for kids. Process
For the next three years after effectively flavoring Hadley's medication, Kenny and his father continued to experiment and test concentrated flavorings and liquid medications. When FLAVORx began, the standard flavors that were available to pharmacists did not work well enough to cover up the bitter tastes of many medicines. The alcohol content was often too high and most times the flavors contained dyes and colorings to which some children had sensitivities.

We at FLAVORx decided to keep developing exciting flavors that would be fun for children, not just your standard run-of-the mill flavors. We joined forces with one of the largest flavoring companies in the world to help custom develop flavors that would be compatible with medications. After months of thorough scientific testing of our formulations, we let children taste test the flavors to find out how they liked them. The flavors that didn't get the children's seal of approval went into the trash heap and we started again, until we got the best flavors. Most of our flavors are dye-free, or have a dye-free alternative. All are sugar-free and most are alcohol-free (those with alcohol contain only 8% or less.)

The Result
The taste of many medicines sends kids running in the opposite direction. But with FLAVORx, kids take their medicine without a fuss. Kids also become more interested in taking their medicine because they play an active role by choosing their favorite flavor. These flavors don't make the medicine taste like candy, but they certainly make it taste better! Children of all ages can choose any of our 42 great FLAVORx flavors.

We also created three propriety products: the FLAVORx Bitterness Suppressor and the FLAVORx Sweetening Enhancer and FLAVORx Vitamin/Iron Masking Agent.

The FLAVORx Bitterness Suppressor is an encapsulated formulation that releases sweetness after about a minute to counteract the bitter aftertaste left by many medications, especially antibiotic suspensions. It also suppresses the bitter taste of a medication over a longer period of time. The FLAVORx Sweetening Enhancer is an all natural formulation that is extremely sweet and counterbalances a bitter taste. The FLAVORx Vitamin/Iron Masking Agent helps cover up the tinny taste of iron and the foul taste of vitamins.
